THE LOVELIEST THOUGHT

I sat to think 

the loveliest thought

My love towards you  

with my prose wrought

As hours passed by 

I thought it rare

The curious fact 

that found me there

-within your warm gaze 

there is a light

at it shines on me 

it gives me life-

What in ten books 

could not be fixed

It would suffice 

a simple kiss

The loveliest thought 

as it turns out

Does not have words 

but our two mouths

-your laughter echoes 

deep in my soul

and lets me know 

that I’m not alone-

You are to me

the sweetest of perfumes

the ray of light 

that cuts in through the gloom

you are the hope

of one more chance to breathe

the keyhole found

to glimpse eternity

in all, you are 

one thing before all else:

you, you are me

without the loneliness

-so if you must know 

this is the truth

and I taste you sweeter 

than any fruit-
